Starting at 7:00 PM the Depot Café will be hosting "An evening with Ron McCarthy"
This event is open to anyone participating in the Fifth Annual Southeast Missouri SWAT Challenge. The event is free of charge and you will be able to purchase appetizers, dinner, drinks, and alcoholic beverages during the evening. This will be your opportunity to have a one on one with Ron, hear about the history of SWAT, his stories from his career as a Sergeant and SWAT Team Leader at the Los Angeles Police Department. Ron will discuss how SWAT has evolved over the years and take your questions on incidents involving police work and SWAT. We hope that you will be able to join us as you listen to the Godfather of SWAT take you through how SWAT has transformed since the beginning.

THE SOUTHEAST MISSOURI SWAT CHALLENGE PRESENTS
THE ORLANDO POLICE DEPARTMENT SWAT
The debrief on the “CLUB PULSE” mass shhoting incident.
April 21st, 2017 from 8:00am-11:am at Calvary Church in Fredericktown
On June 12, 2016, a 29-year-old male, killed 49 people and wounded 53 others in a terrorist attack inside Pulse, a nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The suspect was shot and killed by Orlando Police Department SWAT officers after a three-hour standoff. It was also the deadliest attack on the United States since the 9/11 attacks. In a 911 call shortly after the shooting began, the suspect swore allegience to the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levantt (ISIL), Abu-Bakr al-baghdadi. The suspect was engaged by OPD patrol units and surrounding agencies in a gun battle that turned into a hostage incident. The city of Orlando and surrounding agencies were put to the highest of test during this incident. Law enforcement from all over the Orlando area responded to the incident to assit in any form possible. The incident required multiple personal of Fire and EMS also along with doctors and surgeons that ran to the triage area set up just blocks from Orlando Medical Center a Trauma 1 facility. Come listen to the debrief of this incident and how the Orlando Police Department SWAT team explains how this incident unfolded.
The SEMO SWAT Challenge is honored to have members of the Orlando PD SWAT at our event to provide their debriefs and stories of this incident. Det. Raul Rivas and Officer Timothy Stanley from Orlando SWAT, will be the presenters and speakers during the presentation. Friday morning from 8:00am till 11:00am the Club Pulse debrief will be given and is open to ALL Police, Fire, EMS, and Emergency Management memebrs. If you plan to attend the debrief you will need a department ID to get into the auditorium. If your not a comepting team member or partaking in training classes we ask that you RSVP for the debrief as we will be able to accomaodate up to 1200 and we plan on having a full house.. Individual Competitions will begin on the main range at 1:00 PM
SEMO SWAT CHALLENGE TOP SNIPER
Friday April 21st at 1:30pm at Main Range and Sniper Range
Each competing team will send 1 sniper forward to take on the other teams competing sniper for the title of TOP SNIPER.
Competitors will have too shoot from standing/kneeling/prone positions at distances from 25 yards to 200 yards. Competitors will move around on a course set up to test them physically making the next shot that much more difficult. Sniper are penalized for missed shots and at the end the fastest and cleanest time will prevail.
The winner of this event will walk away with an amazing prize and $250.00 cash
The 5th Annual Southeast Missouri SWAT Challenge and Show Me Weights Presents the Super SWAT Cop Challenge “
Friday April 21st 2:30pm at the Main Range
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE THE BEST OF THE BEST? IF YOU DO THEN WE WILL SEE YOU AT THE STARTING LINE. THIS COMPETITION WILL SEPARATE THE MEN OR WOMEN FROM THE BOYS AND THE GIRLS. THIS COMPETITION IS OPEN TO ALL COMPETITORS COMPETING IN THE WEEKEND COMPETITION AND LAW ENFORCEMENT PARTICIPATING IN TRAINING CLASSES. IF YOU ARE LAW ENFORCEMENT OR MILITARY NOT COMPETING OR TAKING CLASSES YOU CAN COMPETE IN THIS EVENT FOR A $20.00 FEE. THE FOLLOWING IS WHAT THIS EVENT CONSIST OF:
Competitors will have to bring with them their handgun and rifle and two rounds for each firearm. Eyes and ear protection will remain with the firearms and ammunition in their designated shooting lane.
Competitors will have the following course to run and repeat three separate times:
- Air Assault Bikes (15 Calories)
- Burpee Box Jumps (10 total)
- 135 pound front squats (10 squats)
- Jump Rope (50 successful jumps)
- Tire Flip (25 yards)
- Kettle Bell (25 reps)
The winner of this event will receive $250.00 cash along with a SOPHC plate carrier in new lazer cut MOLLE with HALO -3 Cummerbunds and Level IV plate included valued at $1500.00 donated by Point Blank Armor. In addition, of the equipment that is used during the event also will be available for purchase by Show Me Weights for an amazing price for you or your department.
